What is RemGood?

RemGood is a private, on-device app for remembering the everyday things that are easy to forget — when the car was last serviced and when it’s due, which filter to replace, a warranty and purchase date, or the restaurant dish you loved. You organize items into categories, attach photos or documents, and get reminders at the right time.

Is RemGood free?

Yes. RemGood is free to download and use, with no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email, and no password. Open the app and start adding items.

Which devices are supported?

RemGood runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17.6 or later.

Do my items sync between my iPhone and iPad?

Not automatically. RemGood keeps everything on the device it was created on — there is no cloud account and nothing is uploaded, which is what lets us promise your data never leaves your device. To move your items to another device, use the built-in Backup & Restore (see below). Automatic sync is something we’re considering for the future, so if it matters to you, let us know at info@ideateovercoffee.com.

How do I move my data to a new phone?

Use Settings → Data Backup & Restore. Export a backup file on your old device, transfer it to the new device (for example via Files or AirDrop), then use Import to restore everything. Because the backup file is not encrypted, keep it somewhere you trust and delete it once you’ve finished restoring. Backup is best used occasionally — mainly when upgrading your phone.

Where is my data stored?

Your items, notes, dates, and any photos or documents you attach are stored only on your device and are never sent to us or anyone else. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I attach photos and documents?

Yes. You can take a photo with the camera or pick one from your library, and attach documents to any item. Attachments are stored privately on your device. You can also choose to save photos you capture to your own Photos library.

How do I lock the app?

Turn on App Lock in Settings. RemGood will then require Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode to open. Authentication is handled by iOS — the app never sees your biometric data.

I deleted an item by mistake. Can I get it back?

Yes. Deleted items move to the recycle bin under Settings → Deleted Items, where you can restore them. They stay there until you remove them permanently or your Auto-Delete rule clears them. Deleting an item also clears its reminder, so a restored item comes back without one — set a new reminder if you still need it.

What happens to my items if I delete the app?

Because everything is stored on your device, deleting the app removes your items with it. Export a backup first if you want to keep them. If your device backup is turned on, RemGood’s data may also be included in that backup like any other app’s.

My reminders aren’t appearing.

First check that notifications are allowed for RemGood in your device settings, and that the item has Reminder enabled with a date and time. Tapping a reminder notification opens RemGood directly to that item.

My reminders are silent during Sleep or Do Not Disturb.

A Focus such as Sleep or Do Not Disturb silences most notifications, delivering them quietly to Notification Center instead of alerting you. RemGood marks its reminders as Time Sensitive so they can be allowed through, but each Focus decides whether to honour that.

Open Settings → Focus, choose the Focus you use (Sleep, Do Not Disturb, or a custom one), and turn on Time Sensitive Notifications. You can also check Settings → Notifications → RemGood and confirm Time Sensitive Notifications is enabled there. If a reminder is scheduled for the middle of the night, it is worth confirming both.

What does the bell icon next to an item mean?

Any item with a reminder set shows a small bell wherever it’s listed. Grey means the reminder is still ahead of you; it turns orange once the reminder has come due. Open the item and tap Acknowledge in the Reminder section to clear it — the bell turns grey again if it repeats, or disappears if it doesn’t.

Why does the number on the app icon change even when I haven’t opened RemGood?

That badge counts reminders that have come due and haven’t been acknowledged yet, and iOS updates it the moment a reminder fires — even while RemGood is closed. If you ever see it look off by one for a moment, opening the app resyncs it immediately. Deleting an item, or clearing its reminder, updates the count straight away.

What does the red “Expired” label mean?

If an item has an Expiry Date and that date has passed, RemGood marks it — the date turns red, an “Expired” tag appears next to the item, and its category shows a warning icon. Nothing is deleted; the marks clear as soon as you move the expiry date forward or turn it off.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Just email info@ideateovercoffee.com with the details — including your device and app version if reporting a bug. Feature ideas are always welcome.
